Hybrid cars were something only for limited people. However, since 2008, the price of hybrid cars have dropped and became a product for everyone in Japan. However, simply driving a hybrid car is not enough for the environment. In order to take advantage of the environmental aspect of the car fully, the driver must be conscious to drive the car in a fuel efficient manner. In order to facilitate the hybrid car owners to drive a car in a fuel efficient manner, Honda has launched “Eco Grand Prix”, a online platform which collects gas mileage data directly from the Honda cars and ranks them publicly. This platform enabled various hybrid car owners to further advance their gas mileage scores, and further promoted the idea of driving hybrid cars in a eco-friendly manner. Not just for hybrid car owners, but this system was used for test drivers at dealerships at Honda who are considering buying new hybrid cars, and created a completely new dealership experience. I participated on this project as a producer and a digital strategist.
